Lynn Hardy - Children's Mercy Hospital Volunteer Services

Mark Miller, lead singer of Sawyer Brown recorded "Covered in Love," a song written just for Project Linus. We listened to a CD of the song. "Covered in Love" is featured on a new video DVD about Project Linus. The DVD talks about the Project Linus mission and helps encourage people to volunteer. The CD is available through the chapter coordinator for $4, plus shipping. The DVD is $10, plus shipping.

Patty Gregory read a thank you note from the pediatric nurses at Shawnee Mission Medical Center and then introduced Lynn Hardy. Lynn is the Program Manager in the Volunteer Services Department at Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Bonnie Hodge - Children's Mercy Hospital Music Volunteer

Bonnie Hodge - Children's Mercy Hospital Music Volunteer

Accompanying Ms. Hardy were Bonnie Hodge, Amy Wurst and a working dog named Cabernet. Bonnie is a music volunteer and plays harp for the children and their families. Amy and her four-footed companion Cabernet volunteer in the Pet Pals program, visiting patients.

Ms. Hardy brought Bonnie, Amy and Cabernet, because they are part of the puzzle that supports the children. Blankets made by Project Linus volunteers are another part of that puzzle. Ms. Hardy concluded by presenting a framed certificate of thanks to Project Linus. Patty Gregory accepted on behalf of Project Linus.
