Blanket-Making Materials
Donations of new, clean blanket-making materials help us supply our blanket groups and volunteers living on limited incomes. We appreciate donations of:
- yarn (please, no rug yarn)
- quilting fabric (100% cotton preferred; woven cotton/polyester blends also accepted)
- quilt batting
- fleece (1 to 1 ½ yards per blanket)
- quilting supplies (e.g., thread, rotary cutting tools, sewing scissors)
- denim, twill, some types of home decorating fabric and other medium to heavy weight fabric that can be used for the backs of quilts
All materials must be machine washable and dryable.
We cannot accept materials that have been stored anyplace damp and musty such as an unfinished basement, attic, garage or storage building.
If materials have been in the home of a smoker or a home with pets, we need to know so we can take measures to remove the contaminants to prevent allergic reactions.
Administrative Supplies
Donate supplies to help us keep in touch with volunteers. Please contact SusanB for current needs before purchasing. Items we may need include:
- postage stamps
- office supplies such as paper, envelopes, address labels, ink for printers
- photocopy services
- cards suitable for thank you notes
